Funeral Service for the late Senior Asst. Commissioner of Police (Retired) Alonzo Maxwell Butler aged 83 years, of Warwick Terrace, will be held on Friday February 7th, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Myles E. Munroe Diplomat Centre, Carmichael Road. Officiating will be Rev. Carla Culmer, President of the Bahamas Conference of the Methodist Church, assisted by Rev. Kenris Carey and Rev. Lester Ferguson. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens.
Left to cherish his fond memories are his Wife: Olga Butler; Sons: Alonzo Maxwell Butler Jr., Alonzo Glen Butler and Theo Devany; Daughters: Laverne Butler-Bissegue, Patrice Butler, Abigail Butler-Sands, Nicole Niki Butler-Bethel, Latanya Devany, Tanya Maycock-Duncombe and Shameka Duncombe; Brothers: Hugh Solomon, William “Billie” Butler; Adopted Sons: His Excellency Elliston Greenslade (Bahamas High Commissioner to the U.K.) and Clarence Russell (Dir. Of Immigration); Numerous Grand and Great Grandchildren; Cousins: Rev. Kenris Carey & family, Mrs. Constance Munnings & family, Audrey Deveaux & family, Lavarity and Judy Deveaux & family, Earl and BJ Deveaux & family, Steve and Connie Deveaux & family, Ashward and Deveral Ferguson & family, Ulyses Minns, Oscar and Ann Sawyer, Kim & Alex Sawyer, Rev. Friends may pay their last respects at The Paul Farqhuarson Center, Police Headquarters, East Street North on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and at the Church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until service time.
