IMHO, I am saddened to see the path that the Bahamian government /Customs is taking rrelative to the dire circumstances faced in Grand Bahama. Rather than taking a path that eases the problems that the island is facing, they have become an extension of the overall problem. It strikes me that the Bahamian government wants to make sure that their income is not effected, when, in reality, if the Bahamas was truly a Christian nation, they would open the ports for hassle-free entries, duty-free and vat free for all. And allow the building material suppliers on island to do the same. This economy needs to get on its feer -- but if Customs does not bend, they are taking a very short-sighted approach. I pray, and I ask you to do the same, that the Bahamian government/Customs will re-visit their rigid stance.
