Ambassador role for Sebas Bastian

Sebas Bastian.

Sebas Bastian.

PRIME Minister Philip “Brave” Davis has appointed Sebastian Bastian as non-resident ambassador to the Central American Integration System.

The appointment was announced yesterday during Mr Davis’ contribution at the fourth CARICOM-SICA Summit in San Pedro, Belize, where Mr Bastian was present.

Mr Davis said Mr Bastian’s appointment is a sign of The Bahamas’ commitment to engaging in the region at a level that has never existed.

“I have asked His Excellency Sebas Bastian to be vigorous in his engagement with the region and use his business acumen and skills in outreach for the mutual benefit of our countries and our people,” Mr Davis said. “I know he will do well.”

Last year, Mr Bastian, a businessman, was appointed as non-resident ambassador to South Africa by the Minnis administration.

Wow, that is all I can say. I should have taken a life of crime . I worked too hard to make chicken feed , when I could have taken the broad road and been successful. This tells the young of the nation a lot. I do not ascribe to this.

Tribanon well Sebas Bastian has done more for poor bahamians than what the FNM and PLP has done. However, while I don't condone gambling but you cannot deny that Sebas has helped alot of bahamians by employing them in his businesses and he along with Adrian Fox has given back to the community that help made them rich men.

Yes just enough to buy allies and make it seem like they do more good than harm. It's all calculated strategy.

It's those greedy criminals we need to catch not the nice ones who give some of their plundered loot back. right...

The FNM and the PLP both appointed him for post.

What has he done that is so bad.

The number business has existed for many years. No one has to buy numbers. Many do it because they hope to win and it is fun for them.

OMG, not this crook! There's no hope. Our government is incompetent, corrupt, unqualified to lead in a manner that helps the Bahamian public. They lead for themselves; greedy

They're not even trying to hide. On Wednesday the Tribune reported the USA warning us to address corruption in our gaming industry.

Two days later the government makes this appointment.

Aren’t there any „clean“ reputable persons? Our reputation needs to be upgraded if we say we are „investor friendly“

Democratic power is wielded by money not votes. After money lobbies who fund political rallies and paraphernalia team sides wine an election they weild more power than the voters, but why this one flouts his skin that the majority of Bahamians disapproved of this form of addiction creating taxation, same as selling cocaine according to UN. Gambling destroys as much lives as diabetes, kidney failure, cancer and the stroke. It is a mental disease that leads to home, financial and social destruction if not regulated through education intervention and rehabilitate policy built in. So sadistic, as lives being destroyed to be seen as a common HOLY and virtuous undertaking of necessity.

Guess he will force himself into a willing pulpit next then declare himself holy. And all the MPs will attend his church as he feeds a kind of hungry, with many pastors also bowing down as the USA warned gambling took 3.5 billion from uneducated, hapless Bahamians thrown into the Lions den of adfiction by hungry, enslaved political leaders to the detriment of those who thought a vote had all the power.
