Bring a statue of Tommy to the stadium bearing his name

EDITOR, The Tribune.

I WATCHED with pride on Saturday, February 25th, 2012 as the Thomas A Robinson Stadium was officially opened.

As a young boy, I grew up in Hawkins Hill and did not live far from the Robinsons.

I remember the year Tommy won a medal at The British Commonwealth Games held in Australia. I believe every Bahamian must have been proud of that moment.

To further honour this great athlete, perhaps the government could engage a master sculptor to build a giant bronze statue of Tommy exploding out of the starting block.

This statue could be placed at the stadium's entrance and mounted about seven to eight feet off the ground. It should bear such likeness to Tommy that even he (Tommy) and the entire nation would be proud of the same.

Thank you for allowing me to express myself in your column.
