FREEPORT - Two young men were arraigned on murder and armed robbery charges in Freeport Magistrate's Court yesterday.

Drexton Belony, 18, and Eduardo Evans, 26, appeared in Court Two before Magistrate Andrew Forbes.

It is alleged that on April 8, while being concerned together, the accused intentionally caused the death of 38-year-old Willie Noah Bethel of Fortune Hills.

It is also alleged that on the same day, the men committed armed robbery.

In addition to the murder and armed robbery charges, the pair were also charged with possession of a firearm while committing an indictable offence.

Belony and Evans were not required to enter pleas to the charges.

They were denied bail and remanded to Her Majesty's Prison, Fox Hill, until September 9.

At that time, a preliminary inquiry will be held to determine if there is sufficient evidence for them to stand trial in the Supreme Court.
