Trade union unrest

EDITOR, The Tribune.

IT IS very clear to many of us that the unions' unrest is politically directed and who is the mastermind behind it...He has done it before and is seeking to do it again to gain brownie points for the forthcoming elections.

It is a well known fact that since the dissolution of the House and Senate, all matters pertaining to salaries and staff relations must be held in abeyance until after the general elections.

Surely this is a time honoured tradition of doing business whether in public or private sector, but particularly in the public sector where unless previously approved, it is difficult for a Minister to obtain any funding for a project at this time.

Senior staff in Ministries are now winding down all programmes.

Therefore, is it not a low down cheap trick for those opposing the government to sew seeds of discord among staff in various departments for the selfish purpose of gaining brownie points?
