THIRTY-TWO Stephen Dillet Primary School sixth-graders graduated from the High Flyers leadership programme and were congratulated and presented with their certificates by Deputy Prime Minister Brent Symonette yesterday.

Mr Symonette, the keynote speaker at the presentation ceremony, encouraged the students to continue their hard work and strive to be leaders in whatever profession they choose.

He said: "It doesn't matter where you're from, to be successful you have seize every opportunity you are given."

Guidance Counsellor Ryan Barnett said the 32 top students in the grade were selected for the programme, which teaches leadership skills and the importance of community service.

The programme, which launched Feburary 3, is the first of it's kind for the primary school and will be implemented again next school year, Mr Barnett said.

Stephen Dillet Primary also congratulated their Northwestern District Spelling Bee Winners.

The first place winner was Almatte Silouis, while second place went to Chimene Jean-Jacques and third place to Barackiel Henry.
