The DNA yesterday announced a full shadow Cabinet without party leader Branville McCartney in a specific post.

Instead, Mr McCartney said, he will act as the party’s official spokesperson.

Had his party been elected to govern the country, Mr McCartney said, the Cabinet would have only consisted of 13 persons – much smaller than the current Christie administration’s.

He said: “The make-up would have been very similar. We would have not had as many ministries.

“We would have combined some ministries and some of the names would have been slightly different.”

Mr McCartney said selections for the shadow Cabinet were made based on personalities, character, and in some cases, background.

The DNA shadow ministers include:

• Party chairman Mark Humes – Ministry of Education

• Deputy leader Chris Mortimer – Ministry of Works and Urban Development

• Wayne Munroe – Attorney General’s Office and the Legal Affairs Ministry

• Mario Cartwright – Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Immigration

• Theo Cochinamagolous – Investments

• Ben Albury – Ministry of Tourism

• Prince Smith – Ministry Financial Services

• Kendal Smith – Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture

• Prodesta Moore – Social Services Ministry

• Alfred Poitier – Ministry of Labour and National Insurance

• Wallace Rolle – Ministry of National Security

• Osman Johnson – Ministry of Grand Bahama

Dr Madeline Sawyer – Ministry of Health

• Roscoe Thompson – Ministry of Agriculture, Marine Resources, and Local Government

• Floyd Armbrister – Ministry of Environment and Housing

• Karen Davis – Ministry of Transport and Aviation

• Maurice Smith – Ministry of Financial Services

Mr McCartney said his party will be requesting courtesy calls on the various ministries and committed to spend the next five years speaking out on behalf of the Bahamian people.

No seats in parliament but a shadow cabinet. What a joke.

You have to see yourself in a position that you would like to be in, even if you're not there yet. Positive thinking.

No, the joke is on you because you don't have them as your government. Instead you've got ... (what?) Well, you know what you've got. Hope you like it. Maybe you're one of them BEC double-dippers.

If a blind man leads a blind man both will fall into the ditch...so let the dead bury the dead. Amen, amen and amen to that!

Aren't we falling in to a ditch now? Come July 1st (VAT) you will be praying for Bran (or someone else) to take the reigns.

But, whatever, the people (like you and others) are getting EXACTLY what they asked for. That is democracy in action. If you ask to be screwed, and get screwed - then you ought to be happy.
