Circus stars back in town

EMANJI Circus Arts, the first Bahamian circus, will be holding its third production, “Odruda”, at the National Centre for the Performing Arts from July 19-21 at 11am and 8pm.

Odruda is a circus-oriented show that features a variety of acts such as trapeze arts, silk cloth, Chinese pole climbing, contortion, the Spanish web, human balancing, fire manipulation and more.

Emanji Circus Arts started in 2002 as a one-man act at Sandals Royal Bahamian Resort, starring Jarvis Grant.

Mr Grant is a very experienced circus performer and has a passion for the art forms that are associated with it.

He has an extensive background in performing and training and has been a member of prestigious performing troupes such as UniverSoul Circus and Cirque De Soleil.

He was also a member of the travelling cast of the Broadway hit “Bring In Da Noise Bring In Da Funk”.

Emanji is not an American-style circus with animals and clowns, but rather a performance moulded on the older European style, based on awe-inspiring acts of human ability, dexterity and bravery.
