No one guessed right in election predictions

EDITOR, The Tribune.

I THINK there should be a comment as to the projection of who would win the election as seemingly no one in the media, print or electronic or in the infancy of polling had it right.

From the stupid to the silly on-line we saw very limited polls and then headlines claiming party 'A' would win and the other vanquished - so far from the truth.

Another online poll actually was proud of their projected results - FNM = 32 seats, PLP = six seats and others nil... they certainly need to check their software.

Then there were the Talk Show people - as a writer to a blog service wrote this morning one Talk Show host professed because one leader appeared on his show and the other didn't the leader who didn't will suffer his curse.

The most impressive media photograph was published Tuesday which showed Sir Durward Knowles leaving voting on the hand and being assisted by the son of the late Sir Lynden Pindling....We have come along way from 1967!

Yet again this process showed that parts of the media seem to wish to continue til death do us part levy allegations which are 30-years old, unfounded but they see the propaganda use. My opinion is that this needs to stop. Certain politicians on who the allegations were made have gone through the gambit, audit of the Auditor General and the Police and found that there are no charges to face. Surely, that should be that?

There was acknowledged prior to May 7th, the incoming government of whatever colour of the rainbow they would be there is an enormous difficult task to try, I empathise, to turn the massive national problems that we have on our shoulders. We have to join ranks and work as one rather than adopting the pure political posture. I hope we will learn...remember when a hurricane hits it does not miss the "red" - "green" faction and only hits the "yellow" faction it hits all.

Between today and the next election we have to create new employment opportunities for over 10,000 youngsters coming out of school - that alone is an horrific task.
