Christie not royalty

EDITOR, The Tribune.

IF THERE is anything Mr Christie should learn from this “referendum fiasco” is that he has been elected to serve and he is not some kind of royalty that is talking down to his subjects. So if he wants the approval of the Bahamian people he must treat them with respect.
The way the whole thing was handled was a disaster from the beginning, and frankly Mr Christie has only himself to blame. Despite gambling being so popular among Bahamians, Mr Christie managed to confuse almost everybody, gamblers and non gamblers alike.
I understand that Mr Christie has now gone into “damage control” and tries to portray himself as the PM who listens. Does he really have any other choice? Too bad he was not listening from the beginning. He would not be in this present mess.
