A world on your doorstep

THE International Cultural Festival weekend 2012 was a huge hit despite several countries being noticeably absent.

While they sat out this year’s food and drink exposition at the Botanical Gardens, other countries joined the line-up to show-off some of their fineries.

Ethiopia made a fine showing with authentic jewellery, scarves and honey wine.

Even though heavy rain showers mucked up the grounds of the Botanical Gardens, it didn’t stop hundreds of people coming out to enjoy the festivities.

As usual, people crowded the stage to watch performances from various countries.

The Bahamas’ own All-Star Band garnered a huge crowd of excited onlookers on Saturday.

One person summed up the entertainment, saying: “The beers of twenty countries, united in one hangover.”
