SKY Bahamas passengers, headed to Abaco, panicked when it was announced that their aircraft was experiencing mechanical trouble, company CEO Captain Randy Butler has confirmed.
Speaking with The Tribune yesterday, Mr Butler said he was satisfied that the flight crew did a great job of handling the incident that happened on Saturday evening. No one was injured, he added.
“We were headed into Marsh Harbour, Abaco, and in descent it was discovered that there were some mechanical issues,” Mr Butler said. “I am satisfied that the pilots did a great job of dealing with it as they have been highly trained to do so. It was a textbook incident. All of the passengers were without injury.”
The aircraft, Mr Butler said, will be taken to Nassau today for assessment.
There were about 33 passengers on board, The Tribune understands.

I was on Sky last night from Fort Lauderdale to Freeport. We were over an hour late, however when the ground crew were asked for an update they gave you an honest and truthfull answer and you the passenger knew what what hapening,
Not the same at Bahamas Air where the ground agents will not tll you anything and actualy get rude with the customer...
That's one reason - when I fly, I fly with Sky!
