PRIME Minister Perry Christie said he has “every confidence” Gregory Moss will not quit the Progressive Liberal Party in light of his termination as National Insurance Board chairman.

The prime minister also revealed yesterday that a list of potential replacements for Mr Moss has already been prepared for discussion by Cabinet.

Although he would not divulge names or the number of persons being considered, the Prime Minister hinted that he does have one person in mind who he would like to see become the next NIB chairman.

“I am in a position to say who (will replace Mr Moss) but I shall not because I must first make the recommendation to my colleagues and you know, I have a certain place to go to this week,” Mr Christie said, adding that the new chairman will then be announced “immediately thereafter”.

When asked how many are under consideration, he said: “You always begin with a number of people and you come down to a final recommendation.

“But when you speak to your colleagues, you will give them the list of the names that you are considering (and) then you will give them, as prime minister, the recommendation that you would like to make.”

An opportunity will be afforded to “discuss it back and forth for whatever period is justified” before a decision is made, Mr Christie added.

“I’d like to think that my recommendation will be accepted,” he said.

The prime minister also rejected reports that Mr Moss, Marco City MP, will leave the PLP, stating he doesn’t think that will happen.

He said: “I think you would have seen a public announcement where Mr Moss indicated he was continuing to be supportive of my leadership.”

Mr Christie recounted a chance meeting he had last weekend with Mr Moss and PLP chairman Bradley Roberts at a restaurant in Freeport and said he is not expecting the Marco City MP to leave the party.

“You’ve seen in the past, people do things like that; but, I have and continue to believe that all the things he said about his support for the PLP and the leadership of the PLP he meant and will maintain,” the prime minister said. “I have every confidence that will take place.”

Comrade Gregory just in case in a temporary fit of anger you might be considering walking across the House floor to join the "phone-booth" sized red shirts party, you need know these four important things about the declining sate of the opposition party.

The red shirts, as in 2002, were embarrassingly returned to the ranks of the opposition, with but nine elected MP's. Instantly they were notified Hubert was jumping ship to go fishing. But what they didn't know at the time was that soon Hubert's Cooper's Town seat would be snatched away from them by Hubert's former, trusted law partner.

And, Comrade Gregory if you think that wasn't bad enough, then came the vote in the House to authorize the PLP government to proceed with PM Christie's numbers "thing," in which we witnessed South Abaco's MP Edison vote against his new leader.

I ain't professing be no mathematician but I knows if you start out with only nine House seats and you lose one seat and the other MP is voting the PLP way, they has troubles which no PLP MP, regardless of how much NIB baggage they carrying around, would risk jumping he party ship to join the red shirts.

Comrade Gregory the fourth reason is while I may not know you, still I can sense you are not the type who is prepared to learn how "boogie" the way them UBP red shirts does when they get together to party?

Sorry, my non- UBP/FNM Comrades, cause I know it's embarrassing to reveal this secretly recorded video, but I must in all fairness to my dear Comrade Gregory, expose for the very first time just what you non UBP red shirts have to endure whenever the occasion calls for you to party with those responsible for developing the most favorable status for certain families of merchants and foreigners, who are the brains behind all the financial wizardly, that has and will always control your beloved red shirts party. And, will do so, long after Hubert and Minnis have disappeared from Bahamaland's political scene?

Comrade Gregory you ain't got the stomach for these red shirts, so staying close PM Christie is looking even better?
