Raising a glass to join in anniversary party

FREEPORT – The Bahamian Brewery and Beverage Company kicked off its 40th anniversary Independence celebrations by hosting their valued customers to an all-night celebration in Grand Bahama.

“At the core of our business are the local restaurants, bars and wholesalers who directly sell and promote our products everyday,“ said Lynden Johnson, BBB sales and marketing manager.

“We are extremely excited to be here tonight in Freeport, at our brewery to serve the owners, bartenders, waiter and waitress ourselves.

“They will be working hard over the next several weeks for independence celebrations, so tonight we are taking care of them. We have all our beers on tap, we have great food and we’ve got KB giving them a personal concert!”

This annual treat for the brewery’s key customers and patrons is the brainchild of CEO James “Jimmy” Sands, who believes in giving old fashioned thank yous to those who support him.

“I love being here for these nights with our customers, they deserve to be told thank you by us and I enjoy talking and chatting with them about our business, what we can do to make things easier and how business is going,” he said.

Guests arrived at the Bahamian Brewery located on Queen’s Highway early in the evening and were treated to a surprise concert by the Bahamas’ number one entertainer, Kirkland Bodie, KB.

After a pre-warm up of mixing music by local and well known DJ Stellie, KB hit the stage to sing some of his well known songs and got the over four hundred guests dancing too.

“It’s been a super night,” said Nathalie Koll Sykes, proprietor of Taino by the Sea Restaurant and Dive Inn at Unexso.

“Jimmy always takes cares of his people and these appreciation nights are well attended and great time for my staff and I to relax and enjoy ourselves.”

The local brewery continues to grow in its presence throughout the Bahamas.

“We are growing steadily and gaining new clients everyday,“ said Mr Sands. “I am a very proud Bahamian and I am looking forward to celebrating our nation’s 40th Anniversary. Of course I hope everyone will be sipping a Sands!”
