FORMER NIB Actuary Derek Osborne has denied he was forced to resign because the ongoing legal battle at NIB.

Speaking to The Tribune yesterday, Mr Osborne said he was in no way connected to the probe now underway into NIB’s operations nor was he even questioned by auditors as they gathered information for their investigations.

He resigned his position at the Board one week ago although his contract was not expected to expire until May 24.

“I was not even aware that they were seeking to end my contract,” Mr Osborne said, “but I can tell you that this decision has nothing to do with the situation with Mr Cargill.

“It was strictly a personal decision because I felt that it was time to move on having already completed three actuarial reviews for NIB among other things. After a while, you just want to go ahead and do other things.”
