Two men rescued at sea

TWO Bahamian men have been rescued after spending eight days adrift at sea, clinging to their capsized boat.

According to a report in the Palm Beach Post, the men were rescued on Saturday by a Coast Guard helicopter and taken to a medical centre in Florida.

The two men, who have not been named, were found about 33 miles off Riviera Beach by the crew of another boat.

The rescue helicopter from Miami lowered a swimmer to boat and the men were hoisted out of the water.

According to the report, a Coast Guard spokesman said it was clear the two needed quick medical treatment: they had been drinking saltwater.

Their current condition could not be confirmed.
