BSC postseason starts tonight with best-of-three series

THE Baptist Sports Council completed the pennant and playoff picture in its 2014 Basketball Classic at the Baillou Hills Sporting Complex on Saturday.

Now the postseason is all set to get underway tonight at the DW Davis Gymnasium with the start of the men’s best-of-three first round series.

The 19-and-under and 15-and-under divisions will be played on Saturday.

In the men’s president division, the pennant winning Macedonia will hook up with Cousin McPhee, while Church of Nazarene will meet Hope Centre.

In the men’s vice president division, pennant winning Men of Vision will take on BIBA and the Eagles Nest will play Evangelistic Centre.

The 19-and-under division will come down to a showdown between the Eagles Nest two teams against the two teams from Macedonia. Eagles Nest A team completed the season undefeated and their B team got the second spot. Macedonia ended up third and fourth. They will play on Saturday at the DW Davis Gym.

And in the 15-and-under division, pennant winning St John’s will play defending champions Macedonia, while BIBA will take on Cousin McPhee when their playoffs get started on Saturday as well at the DW Davis Gym.

Eagles Nest A 45,

Macedonia B 44

Rashad Rolle scored 11 points, including the game-winning basket, as Eagles Nest clinched the 19-and-under pennant. Kenrico Lockhart added 10. Justin Gardiner had 14 and both Delroy Grandison and Levigi Forbes had 13 in the loss.

Eagles Nest A 40,

Eagles Nest B 36

Kenrico Lockhart scored 21 points in the match-up of the two teams. With the win, Eagles A stayed undefeated. Tevin Hudson and Horris McKer both had 14 in the loss.

Macedonia A 44,

Macedonia B 43

in double OT

Terico Strachan led the attack with 14 points in the battle of the same two teams. Delroy Grandison had 12 points in the loss.

Men of Vision 54,

Evangelistic Centre 37

Ian Johnson had 15 points and Cruz Simon 10 as pennant winning Men of Vision wrapped up their perfect season at 5-0. Derel Sands and Anwar Sands both had 12 in the loss.

Hope Centre 42,

Church of Nazarene 38

Jackson Jacob scored 12 points to lead Hope Centre into the men’s playoffs. Anthony Williams scored a game high 14 points in a losing effort.

Eagles Nest 31,

Mt Tabor 27 (M)

Cordero Thompson scored six points to lead Eagles Nest to victory.

Macedonia 46,

BIBA 34

Lerecus Armbrister scored 11, Delano Knowles had 10 and Christopher Gaitor nine in Macedonia men’s victory as they stayed undefeated. Leon Bain had 10 in the loss.
