Tired of the filth

EDITOR, The Tribune.

Kindly allow me to voice a very vexing problem in your paper.
For many months now, we have been tortured to the point of desperation with dogs in our area (Coral Lakes).

One particular dog has encouraged others to frequent this community.

We have complained and complained, and complained; made calls to the Humane Society and the Pound, and speaking to the owner – all to no avail.

This dog gets into our neighbours’ garbage and drags it across our front yard which we pay to have kept clean and in order.

More disgustingly, the dog uses our front lawn as his toilet with urine and faeces now on our front porch!

He drags food, rags, sticks, papers which makes the rats very happy, causing us to set traps in the area.

We, ourselves have dogs protected and kept fenced in our back yard. They are not allowed on the street or to wander around in the neighbourhood. They are well cared for 24/7.

Allow me to drop a bubble buster on our politicians who don’t seem to care if people live in doom and dirt.

Instead of sitting in Parliament defending who said or did what about you, please give some defence to the dirty conditions of your constituency.

With all the dogs running loose, maybe monetary penalties on dog owners who do not have proper facilities for their pets would improve the situation.

The animals that do not have owners should be put to sleep.

Everyone is aware of the fact that politicians cannot personally check their represented areas, but at least have someone from time to time operate in their stead, making sure the community is kept clean, and animals are not walking around feasting on garbage.

At the same time making sure that some force is placed on residents to clean up or pay up for their slackness.

I thank you for your time.
Tired of the filth.
