THREE armed thugs car-jacked two men who were driving at the juncture of East Bay St and Village Road on Tuesday night.

It was one of two armed robberies that took place on Tuesday in New Providence, according to police reports. Police believe the three car thieves used the stolen car to commit the second armed robbery.

In the first incident, shortly before 9pm, a man and his male friend were driving in his 1999 silver Mercedes Benz in the area of East Bay Street and Village Road when they were approached by three men armed with handguns.

The thieves reportedly robbed them of cash, two cell phones and the Mercedes Benz before speeding off, police said. The other incident occurred shortly after 9pm.

Police said a man was standing in front of his residence located at Williams Lane off Shirley Street, when four men armed with handguns robbed him of cash and a cell phone before fleeing in a Mercedes Benz, believed to be the car stolen earlier in the evening.

Police investigations are ongoing.

The only way to ensure your safety in this country is, THERE IS NO WAY TO ENSURE YOUR SAFETY! It's better in The Bahamas if you are a politician or a criminal, which are also basically the same in The Bahamas.

Is it getting to the stage where the innocent public has to drive in convoys at night?

The DPM was "robbed", his aide was murdered, the PM's TV and LBT car were stolen, senior police officers shot and over 100 murders later ............ still the politicians seem unmoved with the urgency of crime in our society.

How many of the MPs have to be directly affected before they get serious about crime????
