POLICE have released a man, believed to be the boyfriend of the Long Island woman murdered nearly two weeks ago, from custody, according to Assistant Police Commissioner Anthony Ferguson.

The 44-year-old man was helping police with their probe into the death of Andrea Carroll, 53. ACP Ferguson said police currently have no one in custody, but are following significant leads.

Police discovered Ms Carroll’s body on the floor of her bedroom on November 29.

Her hands and feet were bound and she had a single wound to the head. Police are still unsure of the motive, but they have not ruled out the possibility of domestic violence or armed robbery.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 911 or 919, the Central Detective Unit at 502-991 or Crime Stoppers at 328-TIPS.
