Thank you, Mr Rupert Roberts for explaining why eggs have rocketed up and incredible thanks to the Ministry of Agriculture and the Minister for causing us to pay through our throats for as simple an item as eggs.

Mr Roberts indicated this increase of duties was caused to support a farm in Freeport. I have to presume a farm in the Port area, but anything produced in the port area and shipped into New Providence enters without duty! This was set up under the FNM.

So you put up a duty that does not exist to cause the consumers – hotel to pay considerably more for eggs and the farmer in Freeport from what Mr Roberts says could never support-supply the market.

Maybe as the minister thinks that a pineapple fruit within a year and now has no idea as to duties on items grown or manufactured in Freeport shouldn’t the Prime Minister certainly consider him as “unqualified” and should fire him post haste before the gentleman does more damage?

Did I hear right that BAMSI was registering farmers – paying them to grow crops and guaranteeing the farmers a price – well these fellas at BAMSI should learn a little from OPEC and the control of the pricing of oil.

Can in 2015 we eradicate government stupidity?
