Operation Potcake on target for huge success

THE mass spay and neuter project known as Operation Potcake is on target to have its second huge success in a row with around 1,000 animal fixed in just four days.

Organisers confirmed that at the close of operations yesterday, the four clinics had completed a combined total of 982 operations – meaning the volunteers are performing at roughly the same rate as the initiative’s first instalment a year ago, which exceeded all expectations.

Today is the last day that pet owners will be able to drop their pets off between 8am and 11am at four locations around the capital, and pick them up between 4pm and 6pm the same day, free of charge.

Dogs can be brought to St Bede’s Church Hall off Kemp Road, Our Lady Church on Deveaux Street off East Street and Oral’s Golden Auto on Carmichael and Golden Isles.

Cats can be dropped at the Bahamas Humane Society in Chippingham.
