Sandals staff enjoy Independence 'puzzle'

Staff at Sandals Royal Bahamian enjoyed Rake n’ Scrape music on Independence Day, when top recording artist, Puzzle, put on a private show in the resort’s cafeteria.
“I think it was good and interesting,” said Kihan Moncur, photoshop manager at Sandals Royal Bahamian. “The performance was great. I liked that people enjoyed it. Staff were taking pictures and taping it for the people who didn’t make it.”
Puzzle sat with the staff, chatted and ate the resort’s independence feast before performing several of his recent hits, like ‘My Birthday (come again)’.
Independence Day celebrations were just part of the month of activities Sandals Royal Bahamian has planned for its staff.

Two days after Independence, the team members and their families gathered at Nirvana Beach for the resort’s annual Family Fun Day.

“What people have to understand is that no matter how much concrete we build, when you have staff that have the right attitude, it’s their willingness to work that’s going to bring people back,” said Patrick Drake, Sandals Royal Bahamian’s general manager.

Sandals and its sports and social club has several incentive events for its staff throughout the year, including a series of team events such as inter-departmental basketball, volleyball and debate competitions.

Sandals also held a speech competition this year that saw Gabrielle McKenzie take top prize for being the best orator on the property.
