THE Bahamas Association of Independent Secondary Schools (BAISS) softball playoffs is all set to begin at the Freedom Farm in Yamacraw on Wednesday.
Here’s how the teams stack up: The senior girls and junior girls’ divisions are completed and the top four positions are decided.
Junior Girls
There is a three-way tie between the St Andrew’s Hurricanes, Nassau Christian Academy Crusaders and Charles W Saunders Cougars with win-loss records of 4-2. After calculating the runs difference using the runs differential method, St Andrew’s came out on top with +4, CWS followed with +1 and NCA rounded out the field with -5.
Therefore, the final
positions are:
- St Augustine’s College –
Pennant Winners
St Andrew’s School
Charles W
Saunders High
- Nassau Christian
Academy
Senior Girls
Once again there was a three-way tie between three schools, NCA, St Annes and Queen’s College with records of 7-2. After the calculations, it shows NCA +8, St Annes +4 and QC -12.
The final standings are:
- St Augustine’s College –
Pennant Winners
- Nassau Christian
Academy
St Anne’s High
Queen’s College
The boys’ divisions are still undecided with one important game among the senior boys and junior boys respectively.
Senior Boys
- Jordan Prince William –
Pennant Winners
St Augustine’s College
Charles W
aunders High
- Nassau Christian
Academy or Queen’s
College
Junior Boys
Now this division is really tied for the pennant position ‘if’ SAC defeats QC in the final game for the season. If SAC wins there is a ZERO run score among the three teams of NCA, St Andrew’s and SAC when the runs differential method is used. If QC wins then the pennant will be easily decided. The four named schools are the top four in this division.
