Death penalty

EDITOR, The Tribune.

I AM absolutely appalled at the decision that there can no longer be the death penalty for murder here in the Bahama.

This means that anyone can be sure that the killing of another person will have no other affect on them than the jail time considered appropriate and adding to the tax payer’s burden.

The value of the person killed is nil! How can this be allowed? Surely it is time to let us make decisions of this kind locally, where the effects are felt, without reference to the Appeal Court?

A very unhappy and concerned citizen.
