Minnis shows great wisdom

EDITOR, The Tribune.

Under the heading “The Unceremonious firing of Senator Hunt”, “The Phoenix” wrote a letter which was published in a leading newspaper today, suggesting that Dr Minnis made a bad decision to ask Heather Hunt to resign.

Obviously that person has a very narrow minded view of fair play in politics.

I suspect that Mrs Hunt will be replaced by another qualified woman and  I personally think that Dr Minnis is not only being fair but  showing much wisdom in allowing as many qualified individuals as possible to not only shine but gain the experience needed to carry out bigger tasks in the future.

I agree like The Phoenix said, that Mrs Hunt is indeed a rising political star and has performed very well in the Senate. Dr Minnis is obviously well aware of this and said in his press statement “I look forward to Senator Hunt’s continued support and her serving at a high level in the next FNM Administration”.

Is it really unwise to see that as many qualified persons as possible be given a chance to develop and gain experience? I think not.

Dr Minnis is a very wise man who is obviously more interested in fair play than he is in playing “favourites”.

I maintain that one of his biggest strengths is that he is being seriously underestimated. I am certain that whomever he chooses to fill the role will be grateful for the opportunity and will shine just as bright as Heather has.

This is no loss for the FNM or for the nation.

As a result of this decision, the FNM will actually gain yet another person with experience in the senate, who  can be used, along with Heather to move the party and the country forward.

Kudos to you, Dr Minnis! Good move!

Kwasi was appointed at the same time. Why is the scheme applicable to Hunt but not Kwasi?

FNMs really starting to remind me of the PLP more and more....

Too bad we don't have a third choice.... I would really look at them hard at this point....
