Anglicans happy to pay NHI tax?

EDITOR, The Tribune.

According to a recent article published on the front page of the Guardian, Bishop Gomez seems to think so. I am very disheartened that someone who I had once held in such high esteem seems to be trying to sell us out. Is he trying to manipulate the people of this country using his position and the word of God?

I find it disturbing that whenever the government finds themselves in an unpopular position they turn to the pulpit for help. Undoubtedly and shamelessly, did Dr Gomez asked his brother to rally up his people to make them believe that ploughing this country into a financial black hole will in turn save them from all of their health woes and give them eternal salvation? NHI certainly sounds good in principal, but there is no doubt that it would result in an economic catastrophe for our small island nation.

Shame on you both, Doctor and Bishop Gomez!

God Bless

Religion was created for just this reason... to convince the ignorant masses that what the King (now government) is doing, is in their best interest. Religion had very little to do with the fictional character. Now, however, so many people truly think that 'God' really exists.

God really does exist - just that "he" is nothing like the character described in the Bible, Torah, or Koran. He is also neither a he nor a she. There is also no place such as Hell. We are children learning to ride our tricycles. When we "grow up" to a point of better understanding, God will become known to us.

We are incapable of knowing God at this time, just as it would be impossible to explain sexuality to a three-year old. They are not capable of understanding due to their current stage of development.

Absolutely, GOD does exist. However, the GOD I serve is not familiar with this PLP sycophant Drexel Gomez!

Religion & politics are NOT supposed to mix!! Didn't the last Commission prove just that! If it actually proved anything!

Gomez needs to stay his ass on the pulpit and keep his mouth shut. I say tax his church. TAX IT HARD!!!

I think that the Anglican church should pay for health care for its parishioners. Isn't that what Jesus did -- provide for his flock?

Let's not take the good book literally now. It's only a story.

he sounds like those christian mothers in the food store. the children running wild and they grab them and say: Tamika, Jesus does not want you to run around.

they should just whack them and be done with it.
