Web shop money

EDITOR, The Tribune.

I applaud the fast thinking of Mr Christie, also the swift move of our Chief Executive, as related to the banking of monies coming from the newly regulated and legalised web shops.

During a speech on April 17, 2015, which was aired on ZNS TV-11, the Prime Minister quickly presented Bank of The Bahamas as what could be seen as a “saviour”, to the numbers and gaming industry here in The Bahamas. These people can now open accounts at Bank of The Bahamas for their savings; for other banks would have undermined all the hard work of the now legal gaming business by not accepting their savings. This would have been a shame and great loss.

In the last referendum, I voted “yes” for the legalisation, etc, on gaming, but Watch D also retains his/its Christian values; seeing a much positive outcome coming from this industry for all individuals and the Bahamas at large. Also one may see in The Biblical scriptures where it states, “render to Caesar, the things that are Caesar’s, and unto God the things that are God’s,” so I believe it is very applicable in this matter, as well.

The numbers business did not start yesterday, it has been going on for many years. Now the good Doctor said on the house floor. his mother sent him to school from buying numbers. Persons who wish to gamble will gamble, The only difference is the government will tax the business. but if the FNM wins the government which I hope not, they can reverse the law and make web shops illegal. in fact they should run on these promises, No VAT, no web shops, no carnival and no urban renewal, no BAMSI, all of which they have voted against. and they. will win every seat. you folks who are close to them give them these ideas. Because they have none zero.

Parents send their kids to school off of drug trafficking and murder for hire money too, exactly what was his point? Crime does pay?

Bahamas would have benefitted if the government had closed the web shops down and started a government owned national lottery......
