Speaker Major, how dare you?

EDITOR, The Tribune.

I ask this question up front, Dr Kendal Major, how dare you deny the people of Long Island from expressing themselves? How dare you take it upon yourself to, without any reason, deny the Member of Parliament for Long Island, Loretta Butler-Turner the privilege that is accorded to all members of parliament? What could be your explanation? Is it that you hate Long Island?

Are you saying to the Bahamian people if the MP is not saying what the PLP want to hear, you are not going to allow it? You seem not to understand what the Speaker’s role is. You are not supposed to be partisan. Catch yourself!

Dr Major, in my opinion your actions were unchristian and undemocratic. Did you allow those who appointed you to instruct you to “silence Long Island?” Don’t you think that the government has done enough to ostracise Long Island? When will it stop? This proves to me that hurricane Joaquin was all political.

It is sickening how, no less than the Speaker, decided that any announcements on the part of an already frustrated people is not in the PLP’s interest. The Speaker decided that he was not having any of it. Where is the integrity in all of this?

Is it possible that the Speaker decided that as long as he pleased his masters, nothing else mattered. I wonder what the late Myles Munroe would have advised in this situation.

I say to Dr Kendal Major, Speaker of the House of Assembly, “own up” to that you erred. You deprive the Bahamas and indeed the people of Long Island a complete report from the person who saw it up front.

How dare you sit “on high” and act like you are God Almighty. How dare you? “Tolerance of intolerance is cowardice.” If you haven’t already done so and if you have a conscience, you are going to get a good whipping when you look in the mirror.

The people of Long Island and indeed The Bahamas have all seen Dr Major “true to form” consistently impose his will from an old and familiar playbook.

We are disappointed in the heavy handedness. No matter what the reason or explanation, “discretion is the better part of valour”.

On another note, How dare the lame Opposition, especially the Leader of the Opposition sit quietly and watch the people, the majority of whom vote for the FNM, be denied a voice without one iota of objection.

How dare you leave Long Island to be slaughtered and be party to democracy being assassinated right before your very eyes without “cracking your teeth?” Your political naivety will not accentuate the positive. Minnis forgot that Butler-Turner stopped the police from removing him from the House.

Cowardice means lack of courage. “A man that flies from his fear may find that he has only taken a short cut to meet it.”

DISGRUNTLED PLP

In all fairness Dr: Major has done his best to be fair to both sides. Now we have these FNM"s with their theme songs I voted PLP last time I am a disgruntled PLP yea right. Try again. and while you are at it try to teach Butler Turner some manners. She does throw her weight around. Queen Butler Turner.

"In all fairness" Complete misuse of phrase when used by the bird. Admit it Strachan, you know nothing of fairness. Your whole scheme here is to fill these pages with PLP propaganda, no matter what the circumstances. Aren't you grateful that the FNM created this avenue for you to express yourself freely? Even when you don't make any sense?

Emac if you believe the FNM created this avenue to express one's self. You are in more trouble than I thought.
