FOUR men will be formally arraigned with the double murder of a Holmes Rock couple today in the Eight Mile Rock Magistrate’s Court.

Senior Assistant Commissioner of Police Emrick Seymour said although the men are being charged, the case is not closed and more persons could also be arrested and arraigned.

On September 13, husband and wife Barry and Sheena Johnson were discovered brutally murdered at their residence in Holmes Rock. The victims were both shot in the head, police said.

Both had promising careers – Mr Johnson was a supervisor at the Freeport Container Port, and Mrs Johnson was a science teacher who had recently been promoted to senior mistress at the Eight Mile Rock High School.

Police launched an intense investigation into the double homicide and later issued an all points bulletin for three male suspects.

Mr Seymour thanked the public for their assistance in the matter.

“We launched an intensive investigation into the matter in an effort to find who would have been responsible for this heinous act, and I am pleased to report that after long hours and extensive investigations, and the assistance from members of the public, we were able to arrest four men and charge them in connection with this incident,” he said yesterday during a press conference at police headquarters.

He said the four male suspects are in their twenties and are all residents of Eight Mile Rock.
