FRANK Hanna, a well known local businessman and benefactor, died last night at his home from cancer.
Known for his brightly coloured clothing, he founded, ran and was president of the Frank Hanna Cleaning Company for 48 years and was a great supporter of the Berry Island and All-Andros Sailing Regatta.
Mr Hanna worked from the time he was a young boy on Bird Cay in the Berry Islands as a butler and a caretaker. He ventured to New York, where he started his first cleaning company in the Hamptons.
He returned to found a shipping company in Nassau, a second Cleaning Company and also a shopping centre on Andros.
Mr Hanna was educated at the Andros All-Age School.
