TWO authorities on the Bahamian climate - former College of the Bahamas geography lecturer Neil Sealey and Department of Meteorology forecaster Wayne Neely - will give a joint presentation at the Village Road headquarters of The Bahamas National Trust on Wednesday, January 20.

Mr Sealey’s illustrated talk will compare the merits of the Bahamian climate with other well-known locations, and briefly suggest reasons for its attractiveness as a tourist and retirement destination.

A senior lecturer in geography at the College of The Bahamas for many years, he has been published widely on the climate and other aspects of Bahamian and Caribbean geography. Educated in the West Indies and England, he completed his graduate and postgraduate studies at Oxford and London Universities. He now manages the book publication and distribution arm of Media Enterprises.

Mr Neely’s presentation will focus on hurricane activity - past, present and future. He will discuss the impact these storms have on the Bahamian environment and give a brief overview of the major hurricanes that have affected the islands.

Mr Neely has travelled extensively and published popular books on hurricanes. He has given many lectures as an educator and meteorologist with over 25 years experience.

The presentation, at 7pm, is free and open to the public. For more information call 393-1317, or email bnt@bnt.bs.
