After years of studying the effects of synthetic pharmaceuticals, Bahamian health enthusiast Kelly Russell decided to go natural by opening a business which sells homeopathic and alternative treatments.

“I decided to take the road less travelled, going back to the original plan of the Creator for His created; to the phytopharmaceuticals derived from the plants and fruits of the earth,” she told Tribune Health.

“After doing my research and market analysis I decided to embark upon my journey to form Organic Alternative International, located in the Sandy Port Plaza.”

The products offered at Organic Alternative International focus on catering to the restoration of the body, Ms Russell explained, such as helping those that are obese and cannot exercise to get the weight off.

She also offers treatments for those plagued with asymptomatic diseases such as hypertension and diabetes.

“The first product is a homeopathic solution that helps the body to produce a natural hormone, human chorionic gonadotropin (HcG), to convert stored fat cells into food and energy, thus causing weight and inches loss. There is also a phyto oestrogen replacement product that restores the oestrogen deficiency in most women that is safer than the synthetic Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) because of its formulation and ability to break down more easily in the body, making the body less susceptible to tumours and cancers,” said Ms Russell.

She believes it is imperative that persons care and invest in maintaining their natural bodies and “go back to the original plan” of utilising plants and other natural options for ultimate healing and rejuvenation.

“Stop trying to fit a square into a round peg with synthetic pharmaceuticals. The goal for my company is to meet the needs of persons who are on a similar journey of natural wellness and to educate the general public on the alternative to the synthetic pharmaceuticals,” she said.

Her plan is to see Organic Alternative International expand its product line to give persons a wider choice in alternative therapy that caters to a more diverse market. For the remainder of the year, Ms Russell is looking forward to getting her products into as many pharmacies in New Providence as possible. This way she hopes to create greater public awareness of their availability in the Bahamas.
