THIS same sex issue is an ideology, a philosophy, a way of seeing relationships that deviate from common sense norms. At its heart is the way a person feels about who they are and how they feel toward others of the same sex. This world is a sea of ideas and has seen many philosophies come and go. Remember Marxism, imperialism, humanism, sexism for its own sake and other such ideas? The consequences of ideas may take many generations before they are seen. Ideas can change, but time tested values don’t have to.

To attempt to argue that society has not collapsed in countries with same sex marriage is misleading and does not mean there aren’t perils ahead. The effects are insidious. The reality is that never before has this distorted way of viewing intimate relationships been so globally accepted as it now is. Is widespread acceptance the standard by which we judge what is right or wrong, good or bad?

If so, by that standard, your children should be allowed to do what every other child is doing in school, single parent homes must be superior to traditional homes, driving without regard for traffic laws is okay, predatory banking rates should not be addressed, political corruption should not be discouraged, etc. The point is simply that normal can mean, that to which we allow ourselves to become accustomed. Normal can become the unfortunate result of lowering the bar in relation to our true potential as creatures created in the image of God.

What is true of the rise of same sex ‘marriages’ is the prominence that personal feelings are taking over old fashioned ideas like moral discipline and self control. Traditional boundaries are being discarded without knowing the possible consequences. For the first time, we see increasing acceptance of adults and children denying the reality of their anatomy and genetics because of their feelings. We are seeing an increasing number of transgender-ism, because of gender confusion and we see attempts to impose gender neutrality in educational systems worldwide. These are really attempts at large scale social re-programming.

It seems the answer, for some, is not to confront this, but to embrace it because it seems harmless. A natural logical consequence of this must be widespread moral and social confusion with increasing social divisiveness. For the first time we also see individuals of one race identifying as members of other races. If feelings are the standard of human behaviour then eventually nothing will become wrong, except what offends the sensibilities of the “new majority”.

Countries which permit or encourage same sex marriages are not moral authorities that should dictate how we govern our affairs. Conformity is not often a sign of strength, but weakness. At one time these same countries were also proponents of slavery and considered blacks inferior. In my view, same sex unions should have equal consideration as traditional marriages if and or when those unions become truly equal and produce offspring. But, 100% of same sex unions are sterile for an obvious reason, they are vastly inferior to mature, nurturing traditional marital relationships and the benefits society derives from them.
