Is Grand Bahama trying to compete with New Providence? Not a good precedent!

In just a few weeks it will make six months since Marvin Dames took over as Minister of National Security and a short time later Ellison Greenslade was ‘retired ‘ as commissioner of police. Yet the country continues to record double digit murders, consistently since October of 2016. A while the detection rate for murders has apparently increased over the past months, the vexing crime continues unabated. In fact the country may record its second highest murder count this year. There needs to be an effective deterrent in the absence of The privy council allowing capital punishment. In the main time, despite recording over 550 murders for the year, thus far, The World Travel Association has listed Chicago among the top 20 safest cities. Their claim is despite the high number of murders the city is still relatively safe because the murders are among specific gangs and the ordinary citizens are safe. Well some people say they had to leave Chicago because gunshots can be heard all hours of the day and night.

The police are re-active, they visit crime scenes when after the murder has happened. GB not competing with N.P., competition there. But its still bad in GB> All the officers in Nassau along with the cars and technology.
