The face of misogyny

EDITOR, The Tribune.

GLENYS Hanna Martin single handedly took on the thirty-four at every sitting of the current session of the House of Assembly. She was doing such a good job fighting for the little man, that Halston Moultrie, the Speaker, of the House of Assembly decided to help them. He descended into the arena, took up his sword with a view to slaughter her. When the Leader of the Opposition attempted to rescue her, the Speaker viciously attacked his dear wife. But the Speaker claims that he is not a misogynist. He insisted that he was merely enforcing the House rules, even though Glenys Hanna Martin and company were exercising their right to leave the House of Assembly.

Rightfully, the Leader of the Opposition moved a no confidence vote in the Speaker for putting on the boxing gloves to help the 34. Of the 38 sitting Parliamentarians, 26 supported the Speaker to show gratitude for his help in attempting to quiet Glenys Hanna Martin.

The Speaker must apologise to the Leader of the Opposition and his wife publicly, privately and individually if he hasn’t already done so. What the Speaker did in the House of Assembly was to apologise to the members of the House of Assembly for his “out of character moment”, which is not allowing the opposition to do what they are supposed to do, that is, to oppose the government in the best interest of their constituents. We hope that these “out of character moments” do not recur as this particular “out of character moment” has rendered the Speaker Guilty of misogyny and misology in the court of Public Opinion.

Mr Speaker has to do the honourable thing and resign.
