Two men are dead after shootings on Saturday night and early on Sunday morning.
In the first incident, shortly after 9pm, a male employee was in a clothing store on Faith Avenue and St. Vincent Road when an armed man entered.
After a struggle, the gunman shot the employee before escaping. Emergency Medical Services personnel were called to the scene and attempted to revive the victim, but he was pronounced dead.
In the second incident, shortly before 1am, a man was sitting in his vehicle in the parking lot of a business establishment on West Bay Street, when he was approached by an armed man who shot him before fleeing. Paramedics attended to the victim but they were unable to revive him.
These latest murders come after a man was shot dead early on Saturday morning.

Lost another cousin to a senseless murder this weekend in shit hole Nassau.
And this half ass government say they reduced crime.
They lied about that.
They lie about Freeport's economy.
We could have kept the PLP and gotten exactly the same half assed, dishonest approach to everything.

What in the hell the Government has to do about your cousin being murdered? They didn't murder him. Crime happens everyday across the world not just in the Bahamas. Maybe if FATHERS are in the lives of their children and disciplining there backsides they can grow up to be decent people. Maybe if the discipline is allowed to happen and people like you do be against it, then there won't be all these problems. What is amazing you crying about your cousin death but yet you find time to talk about Freeport Economy and the Political Parties.

What a terrible Father's Day for these families. We need a smarter approach to crime than what we have now.

Whenever they come bragging about how much they reduce crime and about how safe you are, the killings does just skyrocket. Are we in the Bible days where it says so many men will be killed there will be seven women left to every one man? And the woman will beg and even pay a man to father a child with them because they don’t want to die an old maid.

The troublesome things are the murders are no longer concentrated to specific areas but they are occurring all over the island. And the victims are no longer known criminals or gang bangers but businessmen, school children and other hard working Bahamians.

never. we cant scare the tourist away so we put our head in the sand hoping to pray it away. just goes to show you that Dames didn't have all the answers he claimed - I wish they would just admit it and request foreign help - don't ask from where - I don't know. But I have absolutely NO Faith that the RB Police Force are capable of doing a gat dam thing about this crime.

I know that, but if they want tourism the next day. It's time to start a counter-strike to put up a fighting chance against the drug war. But the RBPF is practically disabled, so you may as well temporary put the police off the streets to reorganize the police.
As for filling the gap? Call in US Special Forces of any branch (Green Berets, Army Rangers, Delta Force, Navy SEALS/DEVGRU, Marine Special Operations and ISA). Bring about 150 soldiers and give them something to do to help stop the gangs or train the RBDF Marines into creating a true Special Operations unit. Not like that excuse of a Commando Unit.
The first 50 will act as an intelligence force to gather and share information, the other 50 will actively hunt gangsters and drug lords with full autonomy and full transparency, the last 50 will train up the RBDF and RBPF's SWAT teams to fully handle nearly every type of threat spectrum.
Sure, it's a bummer that the police officers won't receive work, but the organization is in disarray and rendered ineffective. The RBDF can't even defend against most types of threats. Even they can't stop gangs.
We're on the verge of a total drug war, and if the gangs win. They will begin to spread to other parts of the region and cause more problems in the long run. It won't destabilize the region, but as for us. We will all be the biggest losers and victims of the creation of the new narco-state.

Crime has its roots in multiple ills including and most importantly morality. Webshops, carnival, drinking, theft, government corruption, lack of work ethic, minimal nuclear family formation amongst the other ills we discuss are to blame.
The police are simply overwhelmed and can solve nothing for whatever reason. There is no dialogue with the Bahamian people on the breakdown in the rule of law which has been going on for decades starting in the early 1970s under the PLP culture.
Minnis, or more importantly Turnquset believes that simply raising another $1 billion through VAT increases and Webshops taxes is a panacea for a dis-functional Government to resolve all our problems. At best they are spreading false hope, at worse they are distroying commerce that will escalate crime as more people become unemployed due to the enormous tax burden.
I think it’s too late for the Bahamas.

Bahamians need to stop looking to our leaders and every little stupidity they spout out of thier mouths on a daily basis.
They have no solutions for us only more pain caused by crime, sorry and ever increasing taxes.

Let us not forget it was a police officer that started the first gang in The Bahamas. And it has always been suspected that some ranking officers of the police force are associated with gangs and drugs, hence the head hunches never get caught. Let us also not forget that many of America’s major cities,including Chicago, Baltimore, San Francisco, Atlanta are also overrun with gun violence and murders. And London is also experiencing one of its highest rates of stabbings, many that results in death, in its history. The capital of Mexico had 30,000 murders last year and persons are losing their lives for not wanting to join gangs or refusing to sell drugs. And in many instances they send the head of the victim to rival gangs, drug cartels or family. In South America the violence has become so bad, gang members are now going to Mexico and sneaking into the US. When Donald Trump first won the presidency he had planned to send the military into cities like Chicago and clean up the streets. Now here’s the homework.. what one single thing all these populations where this violence is happening have in common.

Donald Trump just announced he has air marked $50 Millon Dollars to fight and eradicate gangs across the US. This will include the bloodiest MS 13 gang. Members of this gang are sneaking back into the US through Mexico and taking residence in US Suburban and rural areas, non traditional gangs area. Trump feels this will eventually cause gang violence to spill into these areas and are urging officials to use the money and every available resources to flush these gangsters out their communities.

A people who want the police to "mully-cuddle" those same dangerous gun tooting young men roaming our streets!! When to police got aggressive and gone in their faces and took out ant one of them who pointed a gun at them some of us outright said that the police are killing those young men and planting guns on them. So now the police are "timid" to be so aggressive and confront them. . .now they are back at their usual "kill anybody" practice and now we are crying for the police to get aggressive or to hang them!! The biggest threat to crime fighting are loud mouthed persons who are quick to accuse the police of killing young men and planting guns on them!! Now them young men are back to pointing them guns back at yinna. . ."them some real guns" is the cry again!!
