Munnings Road

EDITOR, The Tribune.

THIS Gladstone Road - Munnings Road, south side of West Ridge road blocking issue.

I find it totally unacceptable that the Public Works note without required gazetting have blocked off Munnings Road access. Munnings Road had to have been approved in a sub-division approval so it was accepted to be a public access.

The policing as in the Royal Bahamas Police presence in the area is precisely the responsibility of the Commissioner - if there have been incidents of road rage, drag racing, dumping of garbage then the police need a presence there. A report indicates there are medical records dumped in the area - whichever clinic they belong to should be charged and dealt with, not just speaking about it.

If we take the policy decision in this Munnings Road case half of Nassau roads will be blocked off.

Gladstone first thing is bumper to bumper - Munnings Road filtered Airport - Lyford Cay and Clifton Pier traffic to the benefit of road users thus adding delays on Gladstone Road accessing Thompson Boulevard.

There is no reason for Munnings Road to be “suspiciously” blocked off…

So the good Minister of Public Works will spend $2m next year and still keep Munnings Road closed? Need to know?

If Munnings Road is not a public road ........ then the public has NO right to access the road and use it as a through-road .......... Why are we, as Bahamians, so ill-disciplined?????
