In my opinion US President Donald Trump, who is going through many twists and turns to be re-elected President of the United States, has certainly succeeded in reducing the status of the US presidency to third world status.

Imagine a US rapper like Kayne West seriously thinking that he is sufficiently qualified to campaign for president of the United States. He probably thinks that if Trump can do it, so can he!

I wonder if before Trump came on the world stage — with his apparent difficulty of telling the truth — whether in his wildest dreams Kayne would have thought that he had the knowledge, experience and background — except, perhaps a fast-foot shuffle – to bring anything of worth to the world’s deliberations?

I was in such disbelief on hearing that such disrespect was to be another burden for Americans — and the world — to bear that I did a bit of research to find out who this man Kayne was. The following is what I found:

Born in 1977, he is “an American rapper, production, and fashion designer… he has been a frequent source of controversy for his conduct at award shows, on social media, and in other public settings, as well as for his comments on the music and fashion industries, US politics and race.”

And, believe it or not his wife, Kim Kardashian, equally well known in the entertainment world, says that her husband suffers from bipolar disorder — “brilliant, though complicated”, says his wife, as she struggles to try to save their tumultuous marriage.

To think that there is any American who would entertain this travesty to represent them before the world forum is indeed an insult to this once great country.

I pray that on November 3, Americans will have the wisdom to elect as president a man who has experience, will know what he is doing, understands world affairs, will understand the important position of his country in the world’s deliberations and is able to recognise truth when he sees it!
