Trump and racism

EDITOR, The Tribune.

There was a letter earlier this week in The Tribune from a black conservative praising Trump as a non racist and alluding to the reason why Trump lost the election as being due to the Black Lives Matter movement.

Were does one begin?

The reason Trump lost the election is as plain as the nose on your face his non response to COVID. He stated in March we have 11 cases but it will be down to zero by the weekend! He completely ignored the science. Trump closed his eyes and hoped COVID would disappear as it ravaged the USA. That’s why he lost.

A couple of minutes on reputable websites destroy the notion of Trump being a non racist. So many examples were to start? Pretty convincing one is Trump saying blacks are too dumb to vote for him. A plethora of others take your pick.

In Germany in 1933 when Hitler won power there was a powerful lobby of Jews called the Association of German National Jews who supported Hitler and were elated when he won power. They still ended up in the gas chambers, can’t help but thinking your correspondent above would have been in that camp?

It has been said that appeasement is akin to feeding a crocodile hoping he'll eat you last..................

Trump seemingly lost because of widescale, coordinated influencing of votes for his opponent. That was obvious to me on the night of the election. American media has lost all credibility and foreign news/opinions seems to do a better job covering the American election, like this Australia network:

As for Trump being racist, enough blacks who know him have said otherwise and the 26% of American blacks who voted for Trump dispels that hyperbole. The labelling of people with leftist slurs for the purpose of stigmatizing them is ignorant, purposely divisive and unbecoming!

Clearly your understanding of what "racism" is is flawed, as your anemic example shows!

@DWW... I remember a time in the not too distant past when people could agree to disagree about opinions. Now there is a snobbery that pervades progressive thought that does not allow a person the respect of having an opinion that differs from their own. Its a sad reflection of the state of our world and the main reason for most of the divisiveness that exists in societies!!

Not every mans opinion has to be agreed with, but every man should be given the respect of having his own opinion !
