A MAN was charged in the Magistrate’s Court yesterday with the rape of a minor.
Aaron Williams was arrested after he was accused of having sex with a 16-year-old girl without her consent on July 29.
Due to the nature of the offence, he was not required to enter a plea and the matter was adjourned to October 8 for service of a voluntary bill of indictment (VBI).
In the meantime, the accused was denied bail and remanded to the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services.
Williams, who is represented by attorney Nicolette Burrows, has a right to apply to the Supreme Court for bail.
