Corporate and govt partnership

EDITOR, The Tribune.

I was pleased to see and hear about the roll out of a financial motivational lottery for unvaccinated Bahamians who volunteer to receive their first jabs this month. This is wonderful news and a great holiday gift from The Fox Foundation and its Board of Directors/Trustees. It is vital that all Bahamians should be vaccinated against the worst ravages of the ongoing pandemic if we are to successfully reopen the economy.

It is also very dangerous and unfair to allow unvaccinated individuals to mix and mingle with the vaccinated general population and visitors. There is too much at stake and it is mandated that we do all to ensure that the maximum number of Bahamians get over what might be the hesitant and reluctant attitudes.

Money is a great motivator, especially with the holiday season upon us. I don’t know about you all but my own non-profit, Common Cause could use that grand prize of B$25,000. Imagine the holiday cheers and other goodies that even a B$500 winning would be appreciated. In addition, persons taking the first dosage of their vaccine of choice, are eligible to have their names selected electronically.

The Fox Foundation has always played an integral role in the communities, throughout the years, but especially around this time of the year. This corporate/government partnership is just what the doctor (not Minnis) ordered. On behalf of myself and Common Cause we thank all of the parties who made this a reality.

Happy Holidays to all!
