A 27-year-old man was charged with murder in the Magistrate’s Court yesterday.

Cleso Rolle appeared before Magistrate Samuel McKinney charged with the death of Deandre Thompson on January 3.

According to initial police reports, shortly after 8 o’clock that night, police were alerted to a shooting incident at the intersection of Sapodilla and Willow Tree Streets, Pinewood Gardens.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found the body of a man slumped over in a white bus with apparent gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Due to the nature of the charge, the accused was not required to enter a plea and the case was adjourned to April 1 for service of a voluntary bill of indictment (VBI).

Rolle, who is represented by attorney Ian Cargill, was denied bail and remanded to the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services until that time.

He has a right to apply to the Supreme Court for bail.
