Rights in Zimbabwe

EDITOR, The Tribune.

It is beyond belief that the Zimbabwean government is failing to respect disabled people and empower them so that they can have decent standards of living. These people are living in unacceptable conditions. They are not able to invade foreign countries in search of better living standards like the six million Zimbabweans who swamped South Africa in search of better living conditions.

It hurts deeply that people living with disabilities are often excluded from freedom of choice, health, education, social support services, opportunities to engage and participate fully in areas of their life and society and are more vulnerable to violence and abuse. They face continuous discrimination, stigmatizations and lack adequate protection from their vulnerabilities.

There are no plans and commitment by the careless and clueless government of Emmerson Mnangagwa to address the issues faced by disabled people. Some disabled people have no access to wheelchairs and the government is not doing anything to show strong leadership. President Emmerson Mnangagwa has failed disabled people in Zimbabwe and he is therefore not able to lead Zimbabwe and should step down.
