TWO men accused of having unlawful sexual intercourse with underage girls were sent to prison yesterday.

Devon Rigby, 20, and Afream Brown, 18, were arraigned in Magistrates Court, each charged with two counts of unlawful sexual intercourse.

Brown is accused of having unlawful sex with an eight-year-old girl on two occasions last month.

While police allege that Rigby had unlawful sex with a 13-year-old girl twice sometime between October and November of last year.

Due to the nature of the charges, neither of the accused men was required to enter a plea to the offences.

As a result, Rigby’s case was adjourned to March 29 for service of a voluntary bill of indictment, while Brown’s case was adjourned to May 3.

Both men were denied bail. They were subsequently remanded to the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services until that time.

The men were told of their rights to apply to the Supreme Court for bail.
