THE Bahamas Golf Federation in conjunction with The Ministry of Education and The Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture, are expected to host the 2022 National School Golf Championships March 21-25 at the BGF facility.

The year 2021 was the inaugural year for the championships with about 248 players from 23 schools, both private and public, participating in the championships hosted at the BGF golf facility in the sports centre complex.

“We saw a number of great performances by students from various schools,” the BGF said. “In the senior boys’ division, St Andrew’s took first place. The senior girls’ division didn’t have any teams but did field some individual players.

The junior boys’ division was won in playoff style by the Windsor School at Albany. And the junior girls’ division was won by Queen’s College.

“The upper primary boys’ division was won by Lyford Cay International School. The upper primary girls’ division was won by Eva Hilton Primary School. The lower boys’ primary division was won by The Windsor School at Old Fort. The lower girls’ primary division was won by Gavin Tynes Primary School,” according to a press release.

The championship is open to teams of up to five players for each division, and individuals from schools which do not have enough players to field a team.

Interested players are urged to contact their school if you would like to play on their team for the championships.
