EDITOR, The Tribune.
I have only ever had two bosses.
The first was Tribune Publisher Eileen Carron (daughter of the late Sir Etienne Dupuch, whom I also had the honour of knowing) and the second was the now late Sir Godfrey Kelly, co-founder and then senior partner of Higgs and Kelly, where I began my legal career back in 1997.
In both cases, the exposure was of immense benefit to me, not only because both responded positively to my intense curiosity about a Bahamas before I was born, but because each experienced it from a perspective very different from my own.
As the last surviving member of the United Bahamian Party government and a member of the Bahamas Bar Association since 1953, Sir Godfrey’s was a unique historical perspective on our shared Bahamian world.
May he rest in peace.
