A MAN and a teenager were remanded to prison yesterday after being charged with two separate murders.

Prosecutors allege that Dyanza Gibson, 19, killed Dave Miller, Jr, on January 17 while being concerned with others. He is also accused of trying to murder Reubens Elusme on the same day.

According to reports, the murder and attempted murder incident happened in the area of Key West Street and Robinson Road.

Police said they found two men suffering from gunshot injuries after being alerted to the shooting and later had them taken to hospital.

However, one of the men, later revealed to be Miller, died upon arrival at the hospital.

During yesterday’s arraignment, Gibson was not required to enter a plea to the charges and the matter was adjourned to March 25.

The accused was told his case would be fast-tracked to the Supreme Court for trial through a voluntary bill of indictment (VBI).

As a result, bail was denied and he was remanded to prison.

Also appearing in court on a similar offence was Lashon Davis, 20, who is accused of killing Carlin Smith on January 29.

According to police Smith and a woman were sitting in a vehicle outside their residence on Comfort Street when they heard gunshots.

Moments later, Smith realised he had been shot and was then taken to hospital where he later died.

Davis was also not required to enter a plea to the charge and the case was adjourned to April 4 for a VBI to be served. He also has a right to apply to the Supreme Court for bail.
