A MAN was ordered to attend counselling yesterday after admitting to threatening his wife as well as members of his family.

Terrance Hutchinson, 61, faced Senior Magistrate Derence A Rolle Davis on a charge of threats of harm.

On September 2 at Hutchinson’s residence, he threatened to cut his wife’s throat and made further threats to other members of his family.

In court, Hutchinson pleaded guilty to the charge and explained that his actions were because he was intoxicated at the time. He said that while he knew he said words to them he wasn’t aware of their severity during the incident.

Hutchinson then asked the magistrate for help with his alcohol problem.

Magistrate Rolle Davis granted the accused a conditional discharge during which he is to attend counselling at CCAC.

Hutchinson is expected to return to court for mention on October 17.
